Hungarian Hues

Happy Friday to you all! Well I made it back from Hungary and Austria without incident and about 400 pictures… That means I’m going to break up the trip into two “Friday, You” posts. I’ll do more of a tour of the cities and show pictures of my purchases and all the food I ate etc. next Friday. Today’s is all about the color I saw there. It was so much more beautiful than my former-Soviet-Union mindset had allowed me to imagine. These are mostly just pictures of the buildings I saw but next Friday will have more random, fun pics. With that being said, let’s get to it-

These buildings were all in my friend’s town, Hajduszoboszlo, (yeah, I know…). I loved that even though they weren’t beautiful buildings, the people did a great job sprucing them up with paint. Since I’m a huge believer in how much a little cheap paint can change a room or a piece of furniture, I was pretty excited! A lot of the old Communist apartment block buildings had been painted bright pink, yellow and turquoise though I didn’t get a good picture of that.

Here are a few other color shots I took. Not bad for the ole iPhone!!

This church’s roof was made of little disks.

This is overlooking the wine-country town of Eger’s main square.

A few shots of an art show we happened by.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
